Before You Buy Baby Skincare

This section is for parents looking after a baby's or child's skin day to day. It covers body and face moisturizers, diaper-area creams, massage oils and powders. Each type differs in texture and use: lotions are light and spread easily over large areas, creams are richer for dry patches, and diaper creams form a protective layer. Prices range from 55 EGP for an umbilical spray to 1,255 EGP for the Sanosan bundle.

How to choose

  • For daily body care, pick a light lotion. Use a richer cream like Blankie or Macro Care on dry patches.
  • For the diaper area, use a dedicated cream. Zinc creams like Sanosan Zinc form a protective barrier.
  • For sensitive skin, test a small amount on a limited area before applying more widely.
  • Trying something new? Start small, for example Blankie 40ml at 100 EGP, before buying the bigger size.
  • Ask a pharmacist if a rash lasts several days, blisters, cracks, or comes with fever.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between lotion, cream and oil?

Lotions are light and absorb quickly, so they suit all-over moisturizing after a bath. Dermactive 250ml and Eva Clinic are examples. Creams are thicker and better for dry spots and the face. Oils such as Penduline or Blankie are mostly used for massage and leave a film that may support moisture in dry skin.

Which diaper rash cream should I choose?

There are options at several prices: Eva Baby at 80 EGP, Blankie at 95, Dermactive at 119, Starline at 158 and Sanosan Zinc at 502. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin at each change. If redness doesn't improve within a few days or blisters appear, ask a pharmacist or see your pediatrician.

Is baby powder safe to use?

It can be used with care. Shake it into your hand first, away from the baby's face, so it isn't inhaled. Don't apply it to broken or inflamed skin. Luna comes fragrance-free, while Johnson's is the regular scented version. If your child has chest sensitivities, ask a pharmacist before using it.

Can I use body moisturizer on my baby's face?

Facial skin is thinner, so some parents prefer a face-specific cream such as Dermactive Baby Face Soothing Cream at 119 EGP. Avoid the eyes and mouth, and test a small amount first. If redness or irritation appears, stop using it and ask a pharmacist for an alternative.

How do I pay and when will my order arrive?

You can pay cash on delivery, and orders usually arrive within 12 to 72 hours depending on your area. Check the expiry date when your order arrives. If you're unsure which product suits your child's age or skin type, ask a pharmacist before ordering.
