Derma Ten Serums: Which One Suits Your Skin?
Derma Ten serums: which one suits your skin?

Reviewed by the Beseha pharmacist team · Updated 8 November 2026 · Prices taken from Beseha product pages on that day · 10-minute read

The 30-second answer

Derma Ten has 10 serums of 30 ml, all EGP 330 (EGP 11 per ml), so choose by concern, not price: for acne the 2% salicylic acne serum or the azelaic 10% + niacinamide 5% serum, for spots the 2% alpha arbutin serum, for dry skin the 2% hyaluronic hydration serum, and for lines the 1% retinol night serum at night. The pages are the brand’s own description and no studies compare them; start with one, protect your skin with SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, and ask a doctor if you are pregnant or your skin is sensitive.

or azelaic 10% (same price)

Dark spots

or glycolic 10% exfoliant

Dry and sensitive

or centella 5% to soothe

How to choose a Derma Ten serum

All the serums share the same size and price, so the real difference is the active and how you use it. The descriptions come from the Beseha product pages, no studies compare these serums, and the medical information is from Cleveland Clinic, the AAD and the NHS.

Acne, oily skin and pores

Per the AAD: a gentle wash without scrubbing, acne treatment takes weeks to months, and switching treatments too often can cause breakouts. NHS says to try a treatment you put on the skin such as salicylic acid and to ask a pharmacist. To compare other products: Acne gels and creams and Niacinamide for skin.

Can you use more than one serum?

Start with one. Cleveland Clinic advises beginners not to combine glycolic acid with other exfoliants or retinol, and suggests alternating if you use retinol with salicylic or glycolic acid (salicylic in the morning and retinol at night, or on different days). The Derma Ten retinol page says not to use it on the same night as AHA/BHA.

Ask a dermatologist or pharmacist if

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding: retinol (two serums here) is not for use per the page, and azelaic and glycolic acid should be raised with your doctor first (Cleveland Clinic).
  • Sensitive skin, eczema, active skin inflammation or open wounds: do not apply any acid or retinol, and the centella page says it is not a treatment for eczema.
  • Burning, severe redness or persistent peeling: stop the product and moisturise (the pages say to stop if irritation persists).
  • Lots of spots, or deep, painful or scarring ones: see a doctor (NHS).
  • You want to combine several actives: one at a time at first.
  • No studies compare these serums, so choose by the brand description and what your skin tolerates.

FAQ

What is the difference between Derma Ten serums?

All are 30 ml at EGP 330, and the difference is the active: salicylic for acne, azelaic and niacinamide for blemishes and oil, alpha arbutin for brightening, glycolic for exfoliation, hyaluronic and centella for hydration and calm, and retinol and peptides for lines.

Which serum is for acne?

It has salicylic acid 2% at night 3 times a week, and azelaic acid 10% with niacinamide 5%, and the AAD says acne treatment takes weeks to months.

Does niacinamide shrink pores?

Cleveland Clinic says nothing has been proven to reduce actual pore size, and that it may make pores look less noticeable by regulating oil and smoothing skin.

Do I use retinol every night?

The Derma Ten page says to start with 1 to 2 nights a week and build to three, while Cleveland Clinic advises every other day for the first two weeks, and in both cases with SPF 30 daily.

Can I combine several serums?

Start with one; Cleveland Clinic advises beginners not to combine exfoliants and retinol, and the retinol page says not to use it on the same night as AHA/BHA.

Are they suitable in pregnancy?

The retinol and eye serum pages say to avoid them in pregnancy and breastfeeding, and Cleveland Clinic says to tell your doctor before azelaic or glycolic acid, so ask your doctor.

Do I need sunscreen?

Yes; the AAD advises a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen, and Cleveland Clinic notes that retinol and glycolic acid raise sun sensitivity.

The bottom line

Every Derma Ten serum is EGP 330 and 30 ml, so choose by concern: salicylic or azelaic for acne, niacinamide for pores and oil, alpha arbutin or glycolic for spots, hyaluronic or centella for dryness, and retinol at night for lines. Start with one, use SPF 30 or higher, and ask a doctor if you are pregnant or your skin is sensitive.
