Somebody has to decide whether an ingredient earns its place in a formula, at what dose and in which form, and then prove it. In this role you make that call for Beseha's own products: you appraise the evidence, help develop and improve formulations, verify that every raw material matches its specification, and prepare regulatory files until they are ready for the Egyptian Drug Authority.
Experience: 2-6 years in supplement, nutraceutical or health product research and development
What you will do
- Appraise the scientific evidence for ingredients, doses and dosage forms (tablets, capsules, powders, liquids) so every formulation decision rests on solid human data, not trends.
- Contribute to developing new Beseha formulations from concept to final specification with the contract manufacturer.
- Improve existing products by reviewing dosing, bioavailability and stability against the latest evidence and customer feedback.
- Review supplier specifications and certificates of analysis (COA) against approved specifications to protect the quality and safety of every raw-material batch.
- Prepare and follow up regulatory files with the Egyptian Drug Authority so products are registered and updated on time.
- Check claims on packaging, product pages and blog content to make sure they are accurate and scientifically supported.
- Write clear scientific briefs for marketing, customer service and pharmacist teams so they can explain products to people accurately and safely.
- Build an organised reference base of ingredients, studies and suppliers that speeds up future scientific decisions.
What we need
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, nutrition science, chemistry or a related science.
- 2-6 years in R&D, formulation or quality for supplements, nutraceuticals, health or pharmaceutical products.
- Proven ability to search PubMed, Cochrane or similar databases and appraise study quality (design, sample size, bias, clinical relevance).
- Hands-on experience reading COAs and raw-material specifications and comparing them with pharmacopoeial references or approved specs.
- Clear, structured scientific writing in Arabic and English, and comfortable reading research in English.
Nice to have
- Previous experience registering supplements or health products with the Egyptian Drug Authority.
- Working knowledge of GMP and of working with third-party manufacturers.
- Using AI tools for literature search and summarising, with rigorous source verification.
- Postgraduate study or specialist certification in nutrition, pharmaceutical sciences or regulatory affairs.
Your first 90 days
- By day 30You know Beseha's current product range and suppliers, have reviewed the COAs and specifications for the key products, and have logged the gaps that need follow-up.
- By day 60You have delivered a written evidence review for at least one ingredient or product, with a clear recommendation on dose, form and strength of evidence.
- By day 90You have proposed a new formulation or an improvement to an existing product with full specifications, plus a clear list of the regulatory file requirements and next steps with the Egyptian Drug Authority.
Where this can lead
- Senior R&D Specialist leading development of full product lines.
- Regulatory Affairs or Quality Assurance lead for supplements.
- Head of R&D, owning the scientific product portfolio.
