A store that loads a second slower, an order that never reaches the warehouse, or a payment that fails at the last step means someone didn't get what they needed for their health. You'll own our WooCommerce store, its plugins and its integrations with Odoo, shipping partners, Paymob and GA4, and make it faster, safer and measurably better at selling.
Experience: 2–5 years building WordPress and WooCommerce stores with PHP, or equivalent hands-on experience
Why this role mattersAt Beseha, the store is how a supplement or health product reaches a customer in any governorate within 12–72 hours. Every stock or shipping error is a broken promise to someone looking after their health, and every performance gain puts pharmacist-reviewed health guidance in front of more people.
What you will do
- Build new WooCommerce features and custom PHP plugins that make buying simpler and clearer for customers.
- Build and maintain REST integrations with Odoo so stock, orders and prices stay in sync between the store and the ERP.
- Connect the store to shipping partners and the Paymob gateway, handling failures and retries so no order or payment gets lost.
- Improve site speed (caching, MySQL queries, images, JavaScript) to lift conversion and reduce cart abandonment.
- Secure the store, plugins and customer data through regular updates, vulnerability reviews and clear access permissions.
- Set up accurate GA4 event tracking so marketing and product decisions rest on numbers you can trust.
- Review teammates' code and document technical decisions to keep the codebase maintainable.
- Estimate the sales and performance impact of each change before building it, and propose priorities on that basis.
What we need
- 2–5 years building WordPress and WooCommerce stores with PHP in production, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong command of custom plugin development using hooks and filters, without editing core files.
- Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating external systems (payment gateways, shipping, ERP).
- Solid MySQL skills including query optimisation, and working JavaScript for the front end.
- Daily use of Git and pull-request-based code review.
Nice to have
- Experience integrating WooCommerce with Odoo or another ERP.
- Experience with Paymob or other Egyptian payment gateways and shipping providers.
- Familiarity with GA4 and BigQuery, or tracking setup via Google Tag Manager.
- Using AI tools to write, review or test code.
Your first 90 days
- By day 30You understand the store's architecture, plugins and current integrations, and have delivered a written report of the top performance and security issues, ranked by their impact on sales.
- By day 60You've shipped your first tangible speed improvements to key pages and checkout, with before-and-after numbers from GA4.
- By day 90You fully own at least one integration (Odoo, shipping or Paymob), with error monitoring and alerts in place, and a regular code review practice the team actually uses.
