Best Shampoo for Hair Loss in Egypt (with Prices, 2026)

Updated 22 October 2026 · Prices taken from Beseha product pages on that day · 9-minute read

The 30-second answer

No shampoo cures baldness on its own, but the right one supports your scalp and strands. For heavy shedding and weak hair: Bioxcin Forte (EGP 850). For an Egyptian brand at a fair price: Capixy (EGP 320) or Hayah Trix (EGP 229). For dry, damaged hair that breaks: Bionnex Organica (EGP 479). Cheapest: Macro Rego at EGP 170. If you lose more than 100 hairs a day for a long time, or see clear thin patches, see a dermatologist.

Before you buy: shedding or hair loss?

It is normal to lose 50 to 100 hairs a day without noticing, according to the NHS and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD). If you lose clearly more, there are two possibilities:

  • Temporary excessive shedding (telogen effluvium): it follows high stress, a high fever or illness, an operation, giving birth, major weight loss or stopping birth-control pills. It shows up a few months after the event, and the AAD says hair usually regains its fullness within 6 to 9 months once the body readjusts.
  • True hair loss: hair stops growing, as in male or female pattern baldness. This needs a doctor, and the AAD says the sooner treatment starts, the better the outlook.
  • Other temporary causes: the NHS lists iron deficiency, illness, stress, weight loss and cancer treatment.

What a shampoo can and cannot do

According to the NHS, the main treatments for pattern baldness are minoxidil and finasteride; even these do not work for everyone and only work while you keep using them, and women should not use finasteride. A shampoo plays a supporting role: it cleans the scalp gently, strengthens how strands look and cuts breakage. It does not replace a diagnosis.

How to wash hair that is falling out

  • Use a gentle shampoo; the AAD notes that some shampoos strip moisture from hair.
  • Massage the scalp with your fingertips, not your nails, and leave the shampoo on for a minute or two if the product page says so, as with Bioxcin Forte.
  • Apply a moisturising conditioner after every shampoo (per the AAD) to cut breakage and split ends.
  • Wrap hair in a microfibre towel instead of rubbing, so it dries faster and you use the dryer less.
  • Brush or comb gently, and only as much as you need to style it.

Mistakes that make hair loss worse

  • Tight hairstyles: buns, ponytails and tight braids; the AAD warns that anything that pulls on hair can, over time, cause permanent hair loss.
  • Daily heat: save flat irons and curling irons for special occasions, and use the lowest dryer setting. Hot-oil treatments heat fragile hair and damage it further.
  • Supplements without a blood test: the AAD says advertised hair supplements are not regulated, and too much selenium, vitamin A or vitamin E has been linked to hair loss.
  • Stopping a medicine yourself: if you suspect a medicine caused the shedding, do not stop it without talking to your doctor (per the AAD).
  • Judging after two weeks: the hair cycle is slow, and even temporary shedding takes months to settle.

When to see a dermatologist

  • If the hair loss worries you or affects your wellbeing (per the NHS).
  • If you see bald patches or spots, or hair is thinning fast.
  • If shedding lasts more than 6 months, or you suspect a cause such as iron deficiency or an illness.
  • Before starting minoxidil or any medicine.

FAQ

What is the best shampoo for hair loss in Egypt?

It depends on your hair. For heavy shedding: Bioxcin Forte (EGP 850). For an Egyptian brand at a fair price: Capixy (EGP 320) or Hayah Trix (EGP 229). For dry, damaged hair: Bionnex Organica (EGP 479). Cheapest: Macro Rego (EGP 170).

Can a shampoo alone stop hair loss?

No. A shampoo supports the scalp and reduces breakage, but according to the NHS the main treatments for pattern baldness are minoxidil and finasteride, and no treatment is 100% effective. If shedding is temporary after stress or illness, it usually settles on its own.

How many hairs a day is normal to lose?

50 to 100 hairs a day is normal, according to the NHS and the American Academy of Dermatology.

What is the best Egyptian shampoo for hair loss?

Capixy (EGP 320) has Capixyl, aloe vera and biotin and is sulfate- and paraben-free. Hayah Trix (EGP 229) is a well-known pick. Macro Rego (EGP 170) is the cheapest and best per ml.

Bioxcin Forte or Bioxcin Black Garlic?

Forte targets heavy shedding, with BioComplex B11 and liposomal actives (EGP 850). Black Garlic has black garlic extract, keratin peptides and amino acids, focuses on fuller-looking hair and costs less (EGP 750).

When does shedding after childbirth or illness stop?

The American Academy of Dermatology says it stops once the body readjusts, and hair usually regains its fullness within 6 to 9 months. After childbirth it tends to start around two months and peak around four months.

How often should I wash hair that is falling out?

There is no fixed number; what matters is a gentle shampoo and a moisturising conditioner after every wash (per the AAD). Some products, such as Aroma, suggest 2 to 3 times a week, while others, such as Capixy, suit daily use.

The bottom line

Heavy shedding: Bioxcin Forte or Black Garlic. Egyptian brand at a fair price: Capixy, Hayah Trix or Macro Rego. Dry, breaking hair: Bionnex or Aroma. Thin hair that wants to look fuller: Vichy Dercos Densi. Either way: a gentle shampoo and conditioner, no tight styles or heavy heat, and a dermatologist if the shedding persists or you see thin patches.
